Police Chief Dan Wade's Remarks

        One of our own, Dreux M. Beaulier, died Saturday May 15, 2004 while on duty.  Dreux was a lifelong Kenosha resident who had spent the last five years serving the citizens of Kenosha as a Patrol Officer with the Kenosha Police Department and a member of the Honor Guard.  Prior to that, he worked for the Mount Pleasant, WI Police Department.

        In addition to serving as a police officer, Dreux was in the Wisconsin National Guard for almost 20 years, and was serving in the Green Bay Infantry Unit Co. B 2nd BN 127th Infantry.

        An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, hunting, canoeing, kayaking, skiing, horseback riding and motorcycling.  Dreux was also a fan of the Green Bay Packers, photography and gourmet cooking.

He and his beloved wife Marie were married on September 6, 2003.

        A talented singer and musician, he was one of the first to sign on with the KAP&DA and was learning the bagpipes.  He played the piano, guitar, harmonica and served as the Kenosha Police Department's first trumpeter.  Just four days prior to his death, he played "Taps" for the dedication of the Kenosha Public Safety Monument that will now forever bear his name.  

        Dreux was honored to use his musical gift to honor those who have fallen and to provide comfort to their families and friends.  Now, much too soon, we honor Dreux and pray that God will help us to comfort his family.

He will be missed.
